CNBC Appearance

I am scheduled to appear on CNBC today about 45 minutes before the US close (give or take a few minutes). Unlike the appearance pictured to the left the I will not be explaining why "aarrrggghhhh, fire bad." The topic today should be dividend stocks.

I hope you mention the downside to those who are invested solely in stocks because of "can't miss" dividend payments. Seeking Alpha is especially negligent having a few uber egos touting "dividend champions" without mentioning that inflation, a breakdown in markets, etc. lead to one truth: there is no guarantee of unlimited dividend increases....too many economic and geo-political variables.

The best laid investment plans have an uncanny way of blowing up when one least expects it.

There are other investments to obtain yield. And these should be diversified amongst sectors, asset classes and other income streams.

t, those guys are like trying to reson with the Bogleheads, aren't they? Only more civil. To your point, I agree with them, but not to the exclusion of a diversified income stream. Glad you weighed in on that. I was beginning to feel like my reasoning was somehow inadequate.
