Sunday Morning Coffee
A fun post that is not stock market related. We had a snowy Saturday here in Walker and after Fire Department business and some college hoops there were all kinds of Jason Bourne movies on. We've had some fun here over the years pondering the content of Jason Bourne's go bag which was in a safety deposit box at the Gemeinschaft Bank in Zurich and also maybe a couple other things that might come in handy that were not already in there for him.
The two pictures give some sense of what he's got in there to start with including a lot of cash (the equivalent of $5 million per the above link), six passports, a Sig Sauer, a thumb drive, a wrist watch, a couple of things that look like tools, contact lenses, a credit card and a few other items.
From the tool standpoint he could probably use a Leatherman, a pocket knife (if his Leatherman doesn't have a blade), a small role of duct tape (these come in handy during wildfires so maybe for Bourne too), a small LED flashlight and a GPS device.
For more personal items, Excedrin or Motrin (he has a problem with headaches), Bandaids, Neosporin and a couple of Cliff Shots if he's hungry.
He might want a couple of clothing items too. Bandannas always come in handy, a hat of some kind if it is cold or to disguise himself somewhat (although he doesn't seem to do that very often) and for when it is cold there are hiking shirts that are very lightweight but very warm.
A couple of miscellaneous items he might need would be leather gloves and a smart burner-phone of some sort (taking a picture and emailing from his anonymous Gmail account might come in handy).
Lastly he will need a waterproof bag to put this stuff in. He ends up in the water quite a bit and he'd probably appreciate having everything still being dry.
Another bad ass spy from a different movie.

Ha Ha. I never watch much TV, but I managed to spend 5 consecutive hours yesterday watching two Jason Bourne movies. And then I spent another hour or so on google looking up Bourne related stuff.
Roger,
I am no longer jeff from Milan but Jeff from NYC. This is real life now. Let me tell you about Italy a bit to understand what I am saying. There 32,000 cases in north of Italy where kids are taken from the parents and placed in foster homes. There are 40,000 cases from Rome down. Well, in italy thete is parentel discretion, you do what the professionals tell you to do with kids. My son, 7 pulls the hair of a another 7 year old girl. The teacher faxes the incident to the courts and now we have an obligation to send the kids to this school up to a friday and to appear in court on Monday. Well, before the courts do some stupid thing I have to take the kids out the country into USA. I have no passports and nothing. So US counsulate for emergency passports. Same day. Tell the school that the kids have a doc appointment. Pack the bags out of the country with a train to Switzland, zurich wich awaits an airplane on sunday, with 23 bags. Hire a helper to facilitate the handlalyn through the trains. In the USA what came in handy was money and smartphone, and the emergecy passports. My kids will no see italy until 18 of age. Oh by the way, my wife and the kids came late to the trainstation to milan since the my girl was crying about her doll. Well, I stopped the swiss train for 15 minutes. The captain of the train called the police, well when they came my wife and kids were already in and the train leaving. The swiss passengers were pissed and conducter gave me a fine 15 thousand euros, One thousand for every minute. Well worth it - The Kids were safe and now they are in a US school where there is parental discretion.
Best,
Jeff from NYC
Ahem. I bet there is more to Jeff's story than he is telling
Jeff, I am speechless, that is astounding.
I hope Jeff made his son apologize to the 7 year old girl.
The girl and her mother had no problem. But I would knee on my kneees, and have my son knee, but there was no time, I had to leave. The problem is that I send my kid to a chatholic institution with nuns. This nun is evil because what would have happend to my kids is forster care and the administration of ritalin or other drugs without my consent. I think that there is a better way to take care of this problem. But going back to the nuns. Milton Freadmen sayed that democracy is not the best system but is the best system that a goverment can offer because everyone will do his owen interest. These nuns have a history of taking care of kids with no parents. They get subsedied from the goverment. What was interesting is that some kids would come and say to me and my wife that my kid was fortunate to have parents like us because they did not have. That sounded strange to me when I heard that and we would encourage these kids. I heard a "little" lie that the parents had died in a car accidents and that the granparents were taking care of them. Apparently, the nuns were doing theier owen thing by taking these kids from the parents(legaly) and having them assign to them because of the subsedies. I send my kid there because I though my sone needed sme discipline. Little did I know that this was happening. Now I am in Milan, leaving to NYC tomorrow. I have gone to my son's school to ask them for my son's school note books because my son is asking for them. Well, after the first time speaking to the secretary, I am not going there again because I am sure something will happen to me. There are things that we do not know anything about. So when my son is 18 if he wants his notes he can go there to some creepy nun. Yes, there is more to the story and the more I dig to the nun's institute the more I vomit. It is discusting that there such tipes of institution.
Maybe, T can start a fund on how to save the italian kids from abuse.
Let me tell you why some parents had kids kids taken them away.
1. Parents are 60 of age - too old.
2. This woman was a single mom and the kid was first in the class. The teacher called the social worker. The social worker asked the courts to take her son away. She took her life.
3.dispute by separeted parents. Kids go to foster care.
Some of these institutions are places that kids are abused sexually.
This problems with kids has become an epidemic n Italy.
Onther thing some of these kids that are placed in chatholics institutions will become nuns and priest a good thing for the church since these figures are going down in numbers and the church needs priest and nuns. Look at waitiva, he instituted the kids event in order to attract more boys and girls to the church. But this is not the way to do it. The church is a very powerfull organization that has started the inquisition in the 1500's, money laudering and in the next 20 years "KIDS". Amazing is it. Well in about 10 years a movie? Well, about a normal family in milan that had to escape to NYC to save the kids. What will happen to the other kids? Nuns and priest. Waitiva, has started the revival of the church. What will be the effects in 20 years.
Best,
jeff from nyc
here is the eMail in Italian only changing the names to protect my kids and family, I will then give the englis version. Well I went to the school, after comunicating that I want the material. I will not go to the school. Apparently I am the only one or one of the few to escape this tragic faith. Here is the eMail:
Gentili Suor xxxxxxxx,
xxxxxxx
What I am writing is that I am in Milan and my wife about a year ago has asked my kids school material, and willing to go to the institute and pick up the material.
NO RESPONSE.
Then I go there my self, and the secretary acknaledge of receiving the email and then sated that the nun has the material and they will get back to me. No info so far. And am afraid that have uncovered something big here.

Jeff's story reminds me of this song:

Jeff, it's not too much better here in the US. Pulling hair will probably result in an investigation, most likely counseling, and possibly placement into a special school.
My friend's young daughter was very bright, and easily bored in class. The school told the parents she had to undergo psychiatric counseling, at the parents expense, as long as she was in school, which was quite a few years. My daughter had problems understanding fractions - so she becomes a slow learner. They told us she needed drugs for ADHD, and we had monthly counseling sessions for three years. These sessions were held in a conference room. They had to be held in a conference room to hold the social worker, the case worker, the school psychiatrist, three teachers, and two parents. 5 to 10% of the students are classified like this. Your tax dollars at work.
And BTW, our friends daughter is a successful pharmacist, and our daughter is a sophomore in a mechanical engineering honors program.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
My son is now in NYC school. In nyc schools there is a cop at the entrance. I told him that he can be hancuffed and arrested if he did in MYC school. So he only touched kids. In nyc you cannot touch so I had to talk to him and told that everyone has germs. If he touches he can get some and he could get sick. The point in Italy is that if you refuse you can they can take the kids from you and place them in foster care. We refused and I give my son fish oil and now I will try dr Abram Hoffer therapy. But he is much better. The problem is taking the kids, placing into foster home and then adaption. In italy thise are the steps that in a case like this happens. But also it can be the parents are too old, ect. I feel safer in the US and my son has seen the what happens. But like to thank you for sharing your experience and the support.
Best,
Jeff from NYC
What kids need is LOVE not drugs. Well, I did my part as a parent. I am sure that Roger would have done the same confronted with such situation or anyone that has love for his kids. The thing is that I could have not done it without a smartphone and money.
Think about what somene would need if you are confronted with a situatione like in Germany in the '30's or that your life was at risk. Will you leave everything behind and go to another country and start over. I did. I lived in NYC and my life was at risk. I picked up and went to Italy with a few clothes and no money. Stared over.
At the end what counts is the experience that you have. Some people have 2,3 different lifes in a span. Others have a boring life. What remain is that I must be careful who I deal with, who you interact, who you speak to. I was taking the subway in Milan and I happen to bump to an african women. She looked at me and wanted me to say, oh sorry. I did not. Bumping and touching is part of being human. In Italy you can still light bump, touch no problem. I am not sure for how long. But If I cannot live in NYC, next stop is North Pole.

Jeff - I understand you had a distressing situation and respect you trusting your instinct that leaving is the best option.
But, I've got to say, you are a very irrational person. Plus your spelling & grammar is atrocious.
Did you intentionally ignore the statement above? "I bet there is more to Jeff's story than he is telling." Or did you not comprehend that the writer was indicating that YOU are telling a HALF story? Either way, it's bad news.
And this …“my girl was crying about her doll. Well, I stopped the Swiss train for 15 minutes.” For a doll? That is unbelievable!! And one more: you send your kid to a particular school because he needs discipline? THAT IS YOUR JOB!
Get yourself EDUCATED, be a PARENT…and God knows, good luck with all that.
Ditto what 2:19 said. The youtube link is spot on!
